Will be placing an order tonight and need to know if Seachem Matrix Bio and Rena;s Bio Chem-Stars do the same thing and can I combine the two or just choose one or the other?

Thanks,

Dan

Either, both, or neither. You can also use pot scrubbies (non-treated) or a host of other things to act as your bio media.

+1 Biomedia is just a material that has a lot of surface area per volume. Any porous material that's aquarium safe could be used as biomedia. The ceramic stuff you're looking at just has a lot more surface area per volume than most other materials.

i've heard better anaerobic experiences with matrix
prolly a little late on this post but just my .02$
