where the water comes INTO the sump, there sill be a plate, bioballs, plate and a sponge of sorts on top or matting

then where the return is there is a chunk of foam then its open after that for your pump.

in the last pic the left side looks to be where the biomedia is held the middle chamber can be for more bio or carbon ect, then the last one is open for your pump.
My sump looks different but thats the order the stuff goes in from left to right on mine. I just set it up a week or so ago.

Anyone know what brand and model it might be my chance?

If i set it up as a sump what types of filters would i put in it without doing it wet/dry?

Put a skimmer in it or next to it, add some LR rubble and some macro algae. LR, skimming LS and macro algae becomes your filtration. Top off water for evaporation, weekly cleaning of the skimmer cup, and 2x/montlhy PWCs.

Well you still need to clean the glass and feed the fish and you probably want to add some nori every other day too, so you will have a chance to get your hands wet.
