Aquarium Advice Apprentice
I recently got myself a fluval 240 roma. I've set it up as a marine tank everything is running great. Used my old aquarium water everything happy.
My question is about lights, The tank came with 2, 48" 18000k 40w T8's (aqua-glo and marine-glo)
I've since added 2 more of the above tubes making 4, 48" 40w T8 and 2 40w 48" T8 anticis. Because I have the starters kicking about so thought I'd make use of them.
So to put it simply I have 160watt of 18000k lighting and 80watt of antinic.
I know that MH and T5's are better for corals but...
My question is, can I only keep soft corals? Or would SPS be okay under this amount of light?
I had a hilide on my last aquarium but was a homemade setup and looked horrific! But on the upside I didn't have to think about what i could keep. Only been keeping marines a year and not had much money until now so never got many corals. I've got 2 types of xenia, mushroom, green zoo poylp and a kenya tree at the mo. They all seem very happy but im no expert!
Any advice would be great
Cheers Joe
