New lighting system
I am looking to upgrade my lighting system, my current is a hand me down . I am looking at this fixture on e-bay JEBO ODYSSEA 48" BLACK QUAD Compact Flourescent Fixture. Any opinions?

Lando might have some comments regarding the Odyssea brand...
http://www.aquariumadvice.com/viewtopic.php?t=101908 Granted, you're not talking a metal halide fixture, but I haven't heard many good things about that brand. Personally, I'd recommend the Coralife Lunar Aqualights Fixture... http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...9&pcatid=12109 I've got the 36" version, and couldn't be happier. Pricier than the Odyssea, but I'm not sure if you can find anything less expensive than the Odyssea either. |

Yah...I am not a fan of Odyssea right now since my house just about burned down. However, I do not think you would experience the same issue with the CF fixture. I have heard that some of the CF fixtures have simply stopped working soon after arrival.

48" 4x65W Coralife LUNAR Aqualight Deluxe
http://www.hellolights.com/index.asp...ROD&ProdID=328 Same thing but without the rubber bands for a lot less (Scratch and dent sale) http://www.hellolights.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=1501 I haven't ordered from that retailer myself, however they do seem to have really good pricing. I'm still debating on the 2 bulb version of the 48" fixture myself. With a wedding in 2 days and other things going on though...tank upgrades are kinda on hold hehe. |
