After years of hard work, the pump on my old Octopus NW 200 pretty much kicked the bucket. The pump still worked but it was worn badly. I had 2 options....buy a new pump or buy a new skimmer. ;)
I settled on a new Octopus Extreme XS 200. At 1st I was a little leary about the Sicce pump, but after doing a ton of reading up on them it appears they have made improvements to them after the 1st release of the pump.
I set it up about 48 hrs ago and the beast is already pulling some nice skimmate. Can't wait to see how it works once it's broken in.

I purchased the same skimmer Larry. I love my XS200. I dialed it in a bit more on the watery side since it was pulling so much junk out. What size tank do you have this on?

You probably know this but If the pump does start acting screwy and turning the wrong way you can blow the air pocket out of the pump by blowing into the silencer vent.
