hey,

i replaced the green tubing of my eheim classic (was getting very gunked up on the inner walls) with a clear tubing of the same size made out of PVC. The PVC has a strong plastic smell. The shop I bought it from said safe for aquarium use, but I'm asking here to be sure.

I have some experience with piping from my interest in water-cooling computers. I've had several different brands of plastic tubing, and i've noticed that most of them have this smell, just would like to know what, if any effect it might have on the water. Thanks.

Its all good. It is the same tubbing but the other one was colored. I used the pvc type from lowes (the same as yours) and it works the same. No harm done
