I've got a 37 gal AGA tank from the 80s. I've got a question about the plastic molding on the top, the piece that a lid would rest on. It has a center support running from the front to back. I assume this was for support of the lid/light, and has nothing to do with the structural integrity of the tank.
I would like to cut this piece out, so that my lights are partially blocked. Anybody see any reason why I shouldn't cut it?
