Phosban Reactor media Questions

Just picked up the Two little Fishies phosban Reactor. My question what is the different between the bio pellets or bio plastics and the GFO? What should I use my take is about 1 1/2 months old and I do have two fish and CUC. Also what product is good? Thanks
