I'm peicing together an under gravel filter system from mostly used parts and I don't know what size pump to use? It's gonna be for a 55 gallon tank with four up tubes. Any help is appreciated.:)

Just a thought. I would use reverse flow power heads on the lift tubes. this will push water down the tube, and under the plates of the UG filter. Much less build up of sediment under the plates that way. if you decide to go with the conventional way. You will need a pump big enough to drive 4 airstones at around 20" DEEP. might use 2 smaller pumps instead. One that I have used in the past is called Super Luft Pump it is a small magnetic piston pump. Plenty of air to run 4 airstones. The Tetra Whisper deep water Pump would also work.
