I have a tank that has the plastic trim going around the bottom cracked right at the 90 degree bend... Does this plastic serve structural integrity or is it for finish work/looks? If it does help the stability of the tank, is this tank junk or is there a good way to fix it? Thanks...

yes the frame is needed since the corners of a glass tank take all the weight. If you go to glass cages .com you can order a new piece. Also your lfs might be able to order you one.

I know it can be a pain to get it off but once that is done it shouldn't be hard to just lay some silicon down in the trim piece and stick it on. Never done it personally but I'm sure there is a few vids on YouTube .
