Please help me. How to use a powerhead.

Bought an aquarium than can with a bunch of stuff. Half of it being junk half useful. I had no idea what this was so I google picture of powerheads and it looked like one. It has a fan and 2 tubes with openings at the ends. How do I use this.

I have never seen that one before but all it does is move water so you stick it in and plug it in.
