I'm not familiar with the saltwater set-ups. But my advice to you is to find yourself a stand that will hold that tank beforehand, because it seems to me what the current owners problem was. It definitely won't be able to go on your 100g stand.

Stand is not a problem, my dad can weld me one out of steel.

I was more interested in used value.

110 gallon tanks can retail for $220 bare.
a 280 that isn't even pre drilled can be upwards of $850.
this is without any equipment what so ever.

I looked up this tank on Glass Cages where it was bought and it was 1201
The acrylic sump is going for about 1100 and I talked him into throwing in 3 250 MH with Ballasts.. All for 1000.

This sounds like a lot of money, is it worth it?

Ooooh, didn't realize it was acrylic...stronger than glass and lighter too, I would say that's a nice find if you have the room/money/time/dedication for upkeep!

Have you seen the tank in person yet? What kind of condition is 280 in?
