I am new to all this and have spent a small bundle so far setting up my 90g coral and fish tank. So, heading into winter I am afraid of what a power outage will do. Assuming a generator is the perfect solution, what are other options to use with the generator and without since I cannot run the generator all night long? I have a heater, pump, 2 fans, and a skimmer.

I use a APC power surge battery back up. I have my 2 filters and heater plugged into it. I spent about 100 bucks for it.
