I'm getting ready to buy a couple of power heads for my aquarium and I need advice on the correct size to go with. I have a 36 gallon aqueon bowfront tank. I'm looking at a set of wave maker power heads on eBay. For my size tank would I be better off with 2 800gph's or 2 1300gph's. I know the more flow the better so I was leaning toward the 1300's but would that be too much for a tank that's only 30" wide.

How much water you want to move depends on what you are doing with the tank. Are you Fowler or reef?

At the moment it's just a fowlr, however I just bought a typhoon skimmer rated for 125gal tanks, a quad t5 unit. My plan is to start a mixed reef with lps/sps, anenome and a clam or 2
