Price for a 29 gallon acrylic?

I'm shopping for an aquarium for to get my three year old started on fish keeping. I have an opportunity to purchase a 29 gallon acrylic for $60. No stand or lights just the tank. Seller claims its in good condition with minimal scratches that disappear when its filled with water. Is this a steal or should I look for something else?

That's reasonable for acrylic. I think I'd go with a glass tank though. They're cheaper and more scratch-resistant. The weight isn't really an issue in a tank this small. Check and see if Petco is having their $1 per gallon sale any time soon. I picked up a brand new 40B for $40.

I am not sure on that price, I am a big believer in glass aquariums only. However you might check out Craigs List. I got an all glass, almost mint condition 50 gallon with a stand, light, UV fiulter, and AquaClear 70 for only $100
