I just received my prime mini chiller (1/15 hp model) in the mail. I opened the box and noticed condensate droplets all over the inside of the bag covering the chiller. It looked like water but smelled like chemical. I am worried that it is the refrigerant that has leaked. The chiller already rattled when you moved it so I opened up the cover just enough to let out a small detached nub of copper. I am worried that the nub was from something critical, however it could have just been a piece of scrap that feel in during construction. I installed the chiller and it appears to be work fine. Oh another thing, is it normal hear liquid swishing when you shake the chiller (even though it is unfilled with water). I know it is just the refrigerant but I am worried I might be low on refrigerant from a leak. What do you guys think? I am already contacting Current USA about it.

From what I remember about refrigerant, the low pressure side is liquid and the high pressure side is a gas. (i could have it bakaszwords) It is normal to hear liquid swishing when you shake the chiller. If it's working you should be ok. As for the liquid, it may be what they tested your chiller with. As for the smell can it be that new plastic smell?
