I was just wondering, I have and AquaClear 70 hanging filter and was curious as to how far down the siphon tube should go. I have a standard 55 gal tank and it hangs about half way down, do I need an extension or is it fine where it is?

doesn't sound like there is much of a problem, Most filter intake tubes only go halfway down, sometimes a little more. You could get an extensioun if you want, then it would filter the bottom a little better, and pick up the waste on the bottom. Your choice, it is not really necessary, but it could be helpful

The length of the intake is a personal preference. Mine in my 55G is 2/3 of the way down. And my other tanks are fairly close to the same.

In my 50g tall mine does not go quite half way down.

I added a bubble wall a few inches above the substrate to insure good flow/current in the bottom half of the tank.No complaints.

Thanks all! I don't know what i'd do without AA!
