protein skimmer

I have a25 gallon tank with live rock and a crushed coral bed. I also use an activated carbon filter system. I currently have two fish and am thinking about adding 1 or 2 now small fish for since extra color. My question is should i use a protein skimmer in my tank? I want to make sure that my tank stays healthy, but don't want to overt do it on the equipment inside as the track is only 25 gallons. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Under 30 gallons you can get away without a skimmer as you can do much larger than average water changes much more easily if parameters become an issue.
