limewood stones create alot of backpreasure.. it takes a strong pump to keep one going.. I would look into a pump for "deep water" for the skimmer online, the prices are pretty reasonable.. JMHO

well, i got a new airstone, and there was actually stuff in the cup, but it wasnt dark. shoudnt it be, if it was working properly?? of course, i just did a major water change, could that be why??
