pump size?????

okay so i have a 55 gallon tank that i going to be putting a sump/refugium on! im going to have a 20 gal long for refugium with skimmer and refugium and what not! i have a diy overflow with 1 inch pvc pipe! i was wondering what gph pump i should get to pump it back up to the aquarium! itll be pumping the water about 5 feet back up to the tank with no elbows except at the top to go into the tank! i was thinking about a 800 gph and getting a ball valve and putting that on and fine adjusting! any information could help! thankyou

I just set up a 40B with a 20 long sump/Refugium. I elected to use a Mag 7 on my return. I only have about 3ft of head and it's all flex pvc and I have nice flow coming through on about 80% open. It really depends on what your looking to have in the tank, as far as turnover and what not?
