I bought a 3d background for my new tank with the idea of putting the filter pickup tube behind the background. Will that be ok? Or does the pickup need to be in front? Water will be able to get behind the background since it's not tight against the sides of the tank.
I though about drilling some holes thru the background to make sure water gets back there. I want to avoid the fish getting back there though.
What says ye. :)

I'll answer my own question. While pitting the 3d background into the tank, I broke off a corner. :(
I cut a piece of black sponge the same shape and wedged it in the cavity. The pickup tube is right behind it. I put a sword plant in front of the sponge. You can't see any of it!
