Question about a Power Head

I currently have a well stocked 50 gal tank and I was considering adding a maxi - jet 900 powerhead to increase water circulation in my tank. I didn't know if this was common or not with frehwater fish, or this would create any issues I might want to avoid. Thanks!

What is your filtration method now? If its a canister, you probably have fine circulation already. Besides, most small fish are not going to like a strong current.

I use a Whisper Power Filter 60 on one side and a large pump on the opposite side for aeration/bubbles

i currently have that exact powerhead running in my marine tank (32gal) it dosent offer an extremely strong current so im not sure if it would do much at all in 50 gal.
