Question on LED lighting

Just so you know, PFO is out of business. If you needed parts or repair you would be out of luck. They will work for a reef tank tho.
 
yes i'm aware, but would i be restrained in the corals i can keep with that light? i notice the description says equivalent of 250W MH
 
i don't have any first hand experience with those, but i will say that they had one at a local store, and it was over an established reef (i think it was a 46 bow and it was a few years old), and all they had in it was softies and lps.
that may mean absolutely nothing, but one of the alleged great features of those fixtures was that they could simulate cloud cover and other lower light situations, just like a normal day out at the real reef. unfortunately, cloud cover does absolutely nothing for photosynthetic creatures.
 
Thanks for the response i just desided to pass on it and stick with the T5 fixture i have now
