I ordered and insump skimmer for my 50 gal. oceanic, and it's run by a pump....Is it okay if I use one of my maxi jets to run my skimmer?

If I do choose that option will i have enough watermovement in my main tank? I now have 2 maxi jets and a return line(from my sump) that is drivin by a mag 7 pump that is pumping 450gph to a 4' headheight.....Im wondering, will my return line act like another powerhead? If I take out 1 maxijet-1200 and leave my return line and another maxijet-1200 in the tank is that enough water movement? :invasion: :eek2: :invasion:

TIA,
Ant

The more flow the better depending on the type of tank your setting up. You'd honestly be better off buying an aditional powerhead for the skimmer.

Whether or not the powerhead will work on the skimmer will depend on what model skimmer it is?
