Really stupid ? about aquarium bottom glass

So, I'm gathering the supplies necessary to convert my 92 gal corner fw tank to sw. The stand is more or less "hollow" in the middle and there are not cross support beams as part of the all glass tank. I always wondered - and now that I'm contemplating putting 100 lbs of sand and 90 lbs of rock in there this question is resurfacing - what prevents the bottom glass from giving out? Is it that the weight is so evenly distributed that it doesn't break?

I would not worry myself.
I have had rocks weighing over 80lbs each in my 180 before(many).
