Everything seems in good shape. It was used in a salt water tank before.

I only have one issue. The original owner cut the hose when they took it apart.

Now my question is.. Should I just get a new ribbed hose or replace with vinyl hose?

That's strictly your personal preference, IMO. I have a 206 (same thing, newer model) and the ribbed hose that came with it works fine for me.

I'm running the factory ribbed hose on both of my Fluval canisters. I assume the ribbed can catch some debris, whereas the vinyl-smooth hose wouldn't.

Perhaps, the last set of vinyl hoses i have, have grown pretty nasty.

Would the 205 too big for a 20gal long?
