I have a Red Sea Berlin Skimmer hangin on the back of my tank now... only because my refugium isn't big enough for it to be under my tank. So I'm researching how to build a big and better refugium/sump under my tank. I've noticed that skimmers have to be so high out of the water for them to work...but that info wasn't in my manual that came with the skimmer....does anyone know about how deep these skimmers can go?

I have a red sea skimmer in my sump. I think the manual recommends 4-6" of water depth for in sump use. The manual can be found online.
