Replacement for ceramic rings

I need some Ceramic Rings , and I don't live any where near a place that sales them. Is there anything that can replace those things that can be found like at a Wal-Mart ?

Bacteria doesn't care. A user on here uses dollar store pot scrubbers. Really anything like bio balls, rings, etc will do.
