I tested the powerheads, pumps, to the used 72 gal bow front tank I boutght this weekend. All seem to operate accept the largest pump I believe is a external type for returning water from the sump to the DT. I cannot find a brand but the model number is: 9.5 B listed as Utility pump. The only other marking on this pump is : E160713.
This pump set dry for a year or more in a garage. If it was put up wet with salt water is it possible that is just seized up and if I take the head off (6 screws) can it be service or will it just be junk.
If I need to replace it I am thinking I need a pump for this reef tank that will put out 750 gph with a head pressure of about 8. Am I thinking correctly? Do I want a in the sump pump or another external pump if it cannot be repaired?
