Im new to marine ( 3 months ) and have already decided that my nano isnt what I want . Ive ordered a 50 gallon 4 foot tank and a 12 gallon 2 foot sump all made to measure for the only space I have . What size return pump will I need . My overflow is 1' 1/4' and my return is 3/4' . I intend on having a skimmer, heater,return, ultra-violet , set up. I will be running berlin . Thanks for any help.

What is the height from the top of the tank(or where the return is drilled in the tank), to the very bottom of your sump, where the pump will be sitting?

It will be around 46"

i would use a mag 7 or quiet one 3000.

I agree with mr X, you could get away with the QuiteOne 1200 model.. but it wouldn't give you much flow in a 50G tank. Mag 7 or the QuiteOne 3000 would be good choices.
