I am in he process of accumulating stuff to set up my 75 gallon salt water reef tank. My question is do I need RO/DI or can I use tap water that has been aged. I know that I have to make sure that the salinity and temp are the same for my water changes but to initially set it up will I need it?

You cant go wrong with RO/DI, it will end up saving you time and money in the long run. Id either purchase a RO/DI unit, or go to the LFS or Walmart and purchase your water from them if you dont get a RO/DI unit. I wouldnt recommend using tapwater but of course there are people that do it.

Distilled water or the water out of their...I'm not sure what you call them...those water machines outside.
Get the RO/DI...next to your lights, it's the best investment you will make.
