Hi all! Long time lurker and reader, first time poster.

I have had small tanks for years, usually the Aqueon Kits from 10 - 20 gallon range. I have finally moved up and bought a used 55 gallon with nice oak stand and canopy.

I am looking at lights for a freswater, low light planted tank and found this light.... Odyssea T5 Aquarium Lighting

1) Anyone no anything about it or have opinions?

2) Will this fit within a standard canopy? Do I have to worry about heat or anything else with having the canopy lid closed?

3) Is there a difference in light output between the 10000K and 6500K or is just the light sprectrum?

4) Will low level plants be ok with the 6500K?

Thanks for all your help! I have learned tons from reading these forums!

That looks like a deal. I'm also looking at lighting options.

I have the three bulb oddysea fixture and I love it. The digital timer is great.

It's not the best fixture ever, but for the price it is a value.

I did not use the brackets on mine, but I think that it attaches to the lip of the tank.

As far as lighting goes, for planted tanks I prefer getting something in the daylight range, but 10000k's work as well. Here's a good read on aquarium lighting.
