I have taken my bio wheel 170 off my saltwater tank and would like to now use it on my freshwater tank. Of coarse I will change the filter and bio-wheel but was wondering if there is anything that might cause a problem doing this. I have cleaned it real good in fresh water but there is still slime I can't get to and some coral line algea on the intake and overflow.

This shouldn't pose any problems at all. Any SW pathogens that might even remotely be there wouldn't survive a switch to FW.

If in doubt, rinse the impeller and housing with 10% bleach solution. This will kill any bacteria. Rinse VERY throughly with tap water and finish off with a rinse water with a double dose of declor.
