Salt Water Premix Resevoir

i've been trying to keep a 30 gallon tank full of about 15 gallons of premixed saltwater. i have a powerhead in there and a heater. the only problem is that above the water level, it's getting a bit mouldy. do you think contact with the mould would be dangerous to my reef?

what method do you guys use to keep quantities of saltwater on hand?

no, it's not crystaline. it's slippery. there is mold on the lid, and more scummy down by the water level.

I`ve never seen that. I would say to be on safe side I would not use that. Do you have a [acronym:7ca91d194d="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:7ca91d194d] that you can get fresh made water from.

Is the storage tank in too much light? Is it covered? It sounds like I have the same setup. Never had any problems with mold.
