I currently have a Marineland Double Bright LED for my 20 gallon long and I was thinking of getting another and just have them side by side. Currently I have a glass top which has a black piece that connects the 2 glass panels which blocks some of the light and the blue LED completely. I also have live plants and I'm pretty sure they would like more light. Does anyone have one they recommend other than another Double Bright LED? Open for trying something new.

Regarding the light block hinge, I have heard of this from this forum but have done this myself. Basically you remove the hinge from the glass panes. The cut a 2 two inch sections from the hinge. Reattach the minimized hinges to the glass panes. Not sure how durable the short length of the hinge will be over time (I had a full length split down the middle...it just got rigid and cracked).
