I was at my local megamart (Meijer) tonight and they had 29 gallon Tetra Aquariums for $34. I inspected the inside a bit and found that the silicone along the edges was a little inconsistent. The bottom seams seemed to have a ton while some of the vertical seams had only a a little at the very deepest edge of the joint, not the heavy coverage I usually see. Should I have concern buying one of these or is that pretty typical?

I see this on many tanks. Silicone around the bottom is thick because it is never seen and doesn't have to look pretty. On the vertical edges, it only may feather out 1/4-3/8" onto both panes. This is fine.

Just make sure you perform a 24 hrs leak test just to be sure that it is sealed properly.
