I asked on my build thread and no response. Does anyone have an opinion on the Aquamaxx skimmers? I am considering the 300 s model for my 220 build.

They look to be overpriced. You can get an Octopus skimmer with a better body design and a newer generation Sicce pump for about $125 less.
Both these skimmer have basically the same body size (8" diamater) but the Ocotpus has a semi cone shape.
AquaMaxx 300s with the old generation PSK 2500 pump - $450
AquaMaxx In-Sump Protein Skimmer
Octopus XS200 with new generation PSK 1000 pump - $325
Reef Octopus Diablo XS 200 Protein Skimmer - Reef Octopus - Protein Skimmers - Bulk Reef Supply
125g reef
