dhemp34 hears surf in the shell
Skimmer Question!! Prism or Cyclone

Looking to buy a skimmer if they are a good deal..the guy says he has a prizm and a cyclone ant that they both cost about 175 new...they are supposed to be great based on our convo. Which should i do if either

Neither. Both are overpriced pieces of junk.
Look into Octopus skimmers. Are you looking for a HOB skimmer since that's what the Prizm is?

well i can get a new one for 40 bucks and i am a stickler for weekly pwc so i dnt care as long as theyhelp a little...

i have the red sea hob prizm skimmer on my 10g and it does help a little but it constantly needs to be adjusted. some days i think i have it adjusted right and the next time i look at it the cup is full of water. i wouldnt waste $40 on it. so glad i got it for free. it's such a PIA. also the salt creep from it is horrible.
