skimmer went crazy on me

i was just doing a regular top-off, and suddenly my seaclone just starts spurting out microbubbles into the tank. before i had the valve all the way open with it collecting skimmate that looked like black coffee, but now it seems that the air tubing is clogged or something has gone wrong with the venturi connection on the maxi-jet, should i clean the pump, and change the airline tubing?

Some times you might have a build up of salt in the tubing. I usually let the tube suck down some warm fresh water to dissolve the salt and open it up
