spots on koran...some id please

my buddy has been battling ick for the past couple of months. this is his koran. i went to his house and took some pics. i know that it is not ich, i have seen ich(too many times) and know what that is. i think it may be a fungal infection. it looks to be mainly on his lower fins. there is some on his body too. looks almost like a grey cotton. the LFS told him to feed garlic and that would cure the problem. i dont know what his water parameters are, but i can tell you his livestock list if that helps.

2 snowflake eels
1 banded moray
1 maroon clown
1 koran angel
1 cleaner shrimp
1 coral banded shrimp
50-75 lbs of LR
20-30 blue leg hermits

All in a 75 gal aquarium.....he does not have a QT. If there is a solution that can be done in the main tank that is about his only option. TIA

Steve-s wrote an article on this kind of thing in the article section. Maybe you could read it and message him.

More likely Lymphocystis. In either case, bioload and water quality are your friends main issues.

Cheers
