So, just doing my regular eleven o'clock Friday night PWC and unplugged my filters on my 55g. After I was done, plugged them back in and one won't turn on. No hum, no crackle, nothing. Just dead.

So frustrating! I have recently spent all of my extra cash on these on a crested gecko and a leopard gecko cages and have no cash for a new filter. So, I'm going to improvise with adding multiple smaller filters. It will look awful, but more incentive for me to save up for a canister filter <3

Just one of those nights where you wished you just cuddled in bed and watched Netflix.

Yea, it does need to be primed. It's a Marineland Penguin 200. It's a few years old, actually. Was my boyfriend's on one of his tanks. Pretty sure the old guy was just getting well... old.
