submersible lights

Will a submersible light benefit plants? Im looking at sticking in a 30w Halogen in the back of the tank for cosmetic reasons as I am already running 2.4 wpg of NO, but was not sure if this submersible would figure into the wpg equation

Halogens are considered useless for growing plants so I wouldn't add it into the total.

Another concern is the 30 watts of heat you are adding to your aquarium. Maybe you would be okay now, in winter, but when December rolls around it is like having a 30 watt heater constantly running.
