I like the look of tahitian moon sand much more. Have you checked out black blasting sand? It gives your tank a very nice look as well, but is fairly inexpensive at $7-8 for a 50-pound bag.

How many lbs for the tank? 30 in by 18 or 19. One 50lb bag?

One 50 pound bag should be OK, depending on how thick of a substrate you want. I think that one bag would get you around 2".

Horrible horrible experience with the blasting sand. Smelled like tar and super greasy. Tossed it and good moon sand. Ugh. It was worth a shot and $8 isn't a big loss at least
