Sump holes for ext filter

Hi Folks, I want to buy a Fluval Vicenza 180 that has pre drilled base for sump, could I use an external filter instead? Thank you

Yes but without seeing it i dont no what fittings you will need i have a fluval roma 240 with an external on it i think there simular.
Go to your fish store im sure they will help with correct fittings.

Thank you, I didnt want to risk a flood. I already have a Fluval 205, so just need to get the sticky up bits for inside the tank

No, you shouldn't do that. Canisters work off siphon and gravity, not from pressure. Something will blow out.

If you're not going to use a sump, just plug them.
