sump priming question

So im building a diy sump and i know how to prime it normally, but what happens if your power goes out and your not home to reprime your sump?

If you have a properly setup overflow box, it will not lose it's siphon when the power goes out.

So im building a diy sump and i know how to prime it normally, but what happens if your power goes out and your not home to reprime your sump?

the sump only holds the water for your tank. you do not need to prime your sump after a power failure. after the power returns your pump will pump the water back out of sump to your aquarium.
