SW people,Do you use an airstone ?

Just wondering who uses an airstone in their SW FOLR, or REEF tank and why?
I do not have a protein skimmer on any of my tanks, just wondering about the use of an corner or rear compartment airstone.

No.. For a variety of reasons but mostly because the air bubbles popping will leave salt creep all over the equipment on the top of your tank.

Yeah Air Stones are not always the best way to go.

Just wondering. Some old books on aquariums have airstones in use, just wondered if anyone still had a use for them. I have one in my QT tank just to move water around when I do huge PWC and the power filter is out of the water. I did notice the fizzy spray that puts a salty mist in the area around the stone. I thought I may help release any trapped gasses from fish waste or someting.
