Interesting. Seems like there is a link but it sounds like it has a lot to do with the individual tank - to many factors in play, and too many people using the product that aren't having the problem. It would be interesting to get all of their stories together and analyze them for any other common links.
I use RC on the reef I maintain and have never seen a lick of Cyano
. It is well established though.
Never said it caused everyone who uses it to be getting Cyano
, in my case and others it was causing the problem. Could have been a bad batch, it was 400 gal
of salt mix, 2 200 gal
boxes of salt mix bought from the same place at the same time. I'm glad it was that because I like the ESV so much better, it mixes crystal clear quickly, and you add all of the individual components separately which eliminates any settling of the different elements to different levels of the bag + the Mg
, cal and Alk
& PH levels are perfect for a reef. You should check it out.
