T5 Ho vs 400 watt metal halide

Any idea if i had 4x54 watt t5 light vs a 400 watt metal halide if i could grow sps with either or do i need more t5s? A guy is selling a 400 watt (2 bulb fixture) with 3 new bulbs for 150$. Any suggestions what would you do?

youd need atleast 8 54 watts but it all depends what size your tank is. if you can get an 800 MH fixture for 150 don't even second guess it buy it

I think its a 200x2 watt fixture but he did say it was 450$ a year ago plus the bulbs were 70$ a peice x3 all new. I was thinking a 60 gallon cube was wondering if i needed to get a 8 bulb t5 so no real energy savings going t5
