There needs to be another category of rock...
There should really be 3 different categories;
1) dry rock- pretty obvious what that means
2) live rock- rock that has living flora and fauna on/in it
3) bio-rock or biologically active rock- rock that has been cultured and has BB colonization, but no other forms of life.
Seems that often there is confusion when talking about "live rock".
some folks claim that all rock becomes "live", but only in terms of bacteria and any critters in the tank environment.
others hold that "live rock" must contain flora/fauna in order to be considered "live".
so often one person is talking about rock with bacteria living in it, while the other person is thinking of rock thriving with different critters and hence the confusion.
I know I have seen it here a more than a few times even to the point of arguments breaking out.
So I propose the hobby/industry adopt another category for rock to avoid confusion.
