I am about 4 weeks away from spending some money on lights ($300.00 - $500.00 limit)

I have a 50 g tank which is 48" x 16", about 24" high. Basically the one thing I would love to be able to keep is a bubble tip anemone. I think I would like to have some type of hallide, vho combo unit.

I'm calling for opinions on what I should be getting and a few good sources for purchasing these units. Thanks for your help and the more opinions the better.

Are you sure its a 50. It sounds more like a 75. But anyway, for the 3-500 range i would look in to some PC's, maybe 4X96.

do i need mh for keeping a bta? I'm pretty sure the tank is a 50g. i know it's 4' long but i may be off with the other measurements.

With MH you can pretty much keep any light demanding corals, clams, or anemones.

Some say it isn't required to have MH for BTA's. But from my experiance my BTA's sit 9-10" down from my 150W DE MH bulb and they dont seem to mind it.

You can find some good deals on used lights. I bought my MH+actinic combo used.
